The Matron’s Handbook Competency Framework
Each of the ten key aspects of the matron’s role is defined in greater depth in the Matron’s Handbook with competences and actions relevant to that aspect of the role. The Appendix to the Matron’s Handbook provides a self-assessment tool so that matrons can reflect on the level at which they currently function for each competence. The Matron’s Handbook defines four levels of competence of the matron's role.
